Modes of Payment:
I usually plan for no more than 2-3 births per month, in order to be able to provide the best care for you and for myself and my family. I usually reserve space for one woman each month who pays with medicaid or sliding scale. Please ask me about this if you are interested.
Aside from Medicaid, I am not contracted with any other insurance company. Despite their advertising, insurance companies’ goals do not include the best possible care for you or your baby. Insurance companies determine who you can have as a provider, what diagnoses are acceptable, and which kinds of treatments you can receive. The listening, care, and traditional midwifery service we practice at Full Moon Midwifery is considered unsustainable within the modern health care business model, though they support the sustainability of your own health and that of your baby and family. The care you receive, your birth plan, and your baby’s care should be driven by your needs, not the needs of the insurance companies. For this reason, we do not accept insurance. I will gladly prepare for you an itemized invoice for reimbursement by your insurance companies. Some insurance companies pay a percentage of out of network services, some do not. Please check with your own insurance company about their reimbursement.
You can pay an agreed amount at each visit or pay it all up front for a 10% discount, depending on your needs. I accept cash, checks, and VISA, though cash and checks are preferred.
